River Plate want to sign Sunderland's Argentine striker Ignacio Scocco, 28, who only joined the Black Cats from Internacional in January.

Argentine footballer Ignacio Scocco, 28, is leaving Internacional Porto Alegre to join fellow countryman Santiago Vergini at Sunderland in a 5m euro (£3m) transfer deal.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has been told he must pay £6.5m to land Argentine forward Ignacio Scocco, 28, from Internacional.
